The statistical methodology you learned might seem inadequate. The newest technology and bigger data should empower you, but frequently this is not the case in practice. There is a paradigm shift occurring in data analysis from data collection to storage to analysis methodology.
This presentation covers the recent history of the use of high performance computing for data analysis. It discusses the basic hardware, software and statistical definitions in addition to experiences gleaned from a decade using R and SAS.
